According to the FWC, pythons are an invasive species that can severely effect native wildlife in and around the ecosystem in Florida.

Participants will receive training about why and how to safely remove these constrictors from the wild. Then, they will get a chance to use their new skills with oversight by mentors from FWC’s Python Action Team and the South Florida Water Management District’s Python Elimination Program.

Kids ages 12 to 17 who have never had the opportunity to python hunt before are invited to participate. While the June 24-26 event is nearly full, there are still spots available for the July 29-31 event.

Proof of a completed hunter safety course is required. For any youth 16 years or older, a hunting license for the target species will be required.
